<image:title>Chinese Vs. Japanese Acupuncture - Chinese Acupuncture: The Traditional Approach</image:title>
<image:caption>Chinese acupuncture is the more widely practiced style globally and is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM views the body as a system of interconnected pathways, known as meridians, through which vital energy (Qi) flows. When the flow of Qi is disrupted, it can lead to illness and imbalance. The primary goal of Chinese acupuncture is to restore the flow of Qi and promote harmony between the body's systems. Key Characteristics of Chinese Acupuncture: Diagnostic Methods: TCM uses a variety of diagnostic tools, including pulse reading, tongue analysis, and a detailed discussion of symptoms, lifestyle, and medical history, to determine the underlying imbalance. Point Selection: Chinese acupuncture utilizes a larger range of acupuncture points, often focusing on the body’s energy pathways. It is a holistic approach, addressing both local symptoms and underlying conditions. Treatment Focus: Chinese acupuncture tends to focus on balancing the body’s energy, improving organ function, and addressing both acute and chronic conditions. It’s commonly used for a wide range of issues, from pain relief to digestive concerns to mental health.</image:caption>

<image:title>Chinese Vs. Japanese Acupuncture - Japanese Acupuncture: A Gentle and Precise Approach</image:title>
<image:caption>Japanese acupuncture is a refined approach to acupuncture that focuses on gentleness and precision. Developed over centuries in Japan, this style emphasizes a more subtle, sensitive interaction with the body’s energy. Japanese acupuncture practitioners tend to use very fine needles and lighter insertion techniques. Key Characteristics of Japanese Acupuncture: Needle Sensitivity: Japanese acupuncture is known for its extremely fine needles and shallow insertion. The approach is often more delicate, causing less discomfort and making it ideal for those with a lower pain threshold or more sensitive areas of the body. Localized Treatment: Japanese practitioners often focus on the precise location of symptoms and may treat specific points that correspond to the areas of discomfort. They tend to use fewer acupuncture points than in Chinese acupuncture. Patient Sensitivity: Japanese acupuncture places a high emphasis on the sensitivity of the practitioner to the patient’s physical and emotional states. The practitioner will often check for any subtle reactions to needle placement to adjust treatment accordingly.</image:caption>

<image:title>Chinese Vs. Japanese Acupuncture - What is Acupuncture and How does it work?</image:title>
<image:caption>Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine practice that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to promote healing, relieve pain, and improve overall wellness. Acupuncture stimulates specific points on the body, known as acupoints, to regulate the flow of energy (or “Qi”), enhance circulation, and activate the body’s natural healing processes.</image:caption>
